Yash Shah, a postdoctoral researcher who works with BME faculty Drs. Kyle D. Allen and Jon P. Dobson, received one of five awards given for posters at the Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Meeting October, 10.

Yash Shah’s poster, “Detection of Synovial Fluid Degradation Through Magnetic Particle Collection,” was placed in the top 1 percent to be selected for judging from among nearly 1,500 posters. Yash Shah presented his poster during a poster session to judges, who scored each poster on presentation style and content. He was one of five presenters to receive a $500 award. His research involves using magnetic nanoparticles to analyze osteoarthritis-related molecular changes in the knee.
