Dr. Christine Schmidt was recently elected Chair-Elect of AIMBE’s College of Fellows. The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) is the authoritative voice and advocate for the value of medical and biological engineering to society. The College of Fellows of AIMBE consists of over 1,500 individuals who are the outstanding bioengineers in academia, industry and government. Fellows are nominated each year by their peers and represent the top 2% of the medical and biological engineering community. These leaders in the field have distinguished themselves through their contributions in research, industrial practice and/or education. The Chair of the College leads the committee that plans the overall program at AIMBE’s Annual Event, held each winter in Washington DC.
