AxoGen News: Fox & Friends and Rose Parade

Greetings from Sunny Pasadena where we are caught up in the excitement of tomorrow’s Rose Parade!

As you know, Navy Corpsman and Purple Heart Recipient Edward Bonfiglio will ride atop the Donate Life float as the first nerve tissue recipient to be honored in the Parade. Edward has had the unique opportunity to participate in several of the wonderful events sponsored by Donate Life and it has been humbling to hear the many stories of donor families and tissue, organ and eye recipients alike.

Attached is a sneak peak of the Donate Life Float “Light of the World” along with Edward and fellow Veteran Max. Team AxoGen was actually privileged to have cut and glued boatloads of yellow mums that you’ll see on several of the lantern structures on the massive float.

Edward’s participation in the Rose Parade garnered interest from several media outlets including Fox News. Attached is a segment that aired this morning during which time Edward was able to share the impact that Avance® Nerve Graft has made in his life allowing him to keep both of his legs following an injury he suffered while serving in Afghanistan.

It is truly a privilege to help bring the gift of life to patients with peripheral nerve injuries. On behalf of the entire AxoGen team, I wish you all a very happy and healthy 2014!
