Two BME students receive Outstanding International Student Awards

Congratulations to BME Ph.D. students, Immanuel B.H. Samuel and Fuyong Xing, for being named Outstanding International Students by the UF International Center at the 21st Annual International Student Award Ceremony on November 17, 2015.

Immanuel B.H. Samuel’s research interests are in the field of cognitive neuroscience. He uses mathematical frameworks to study the brain by analyzing EEG, fMRI, T1, FLAIR, DTI, EcoG, Spike train, Eye-tracking, physical activity and questionnaire data. Immanuel’s advisor is Mingzhou Ding.

Fuyong Xing’s research interests include medical image analysis, machine learning, computer vision and imaging informatics. Fuyong’s advisor is Lin Yang.

The Outstanding International Student Awards Ceremony was initiated to highlight the accomplishments of international students at the University of Florida. The awards are designed to recognize students who meet exemplary academic achievements and a wide range of accomplishments and contributions.
