New Industry Partner: Sigma Aldrich Corporation

The J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering is proud to announce our newest industry partner: Sigma Aldrich Corporation.

Sigma-Aldrich Corporation is an American life science and high technology company with over 9,600 employees and operations in 40 countries. Its chemical and biochemical products and kits are used in scientific research, biotechnology, pharmaceutical development, the diagnosis of disease, and as key components in high technology manufacturing.

Sigma Aldrich recently provided generous funding to help sponsor a BME distinguished lecture series speaker, Dr. Kristi Anseth, on September 14th. Dr. Anseth is the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator and Distinguished Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering, University of Colorado Boulder. Her talk was on “Cellular Control in a Couple of Clicks.” Attending from Sigma Aldrich were Gregory Munoz, Nicolynn Davis and Neeraj Asundi.

UF BME looks forward to many more meaningful and productive interactions in the coming year with Sigma Aldrich and in continuing to grow our partnership to realize new and innovative collaborations between Sigma and our faculty, students and staff.
