2015 BME Faculty and Student Excellence Award Winners Announced

This year, the J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering implemented a new series of departmental awards in BME to recognize our excellent faculty and students.

Award winners were selected based on submitted nomination materials and faculty CVs/teaching evaluations. Winners were recognized during the BME Commencement and Pinning Ceremony this month.

Congratulations to the following outstanding BME faculty and students!

UF BME Faculty Research Excellence Award: Dr. Benjamin Keselowsky

This award is given to the BME primary faculty member who, in the previous year or recent several years, whose research program has had most significant impact, especially recognizing new contributions.

The award consists of a plaque and $500 for use in the Professor’s program.

UF BME Faculty Teaching Excellence Award: Dr. Gregory Hudalla

This award is given to the BME primary faculty member who has excelled in teaching, mentoring, and professional development at either, and preferably both, the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The award consists of a plaque and $500 for use in the Professor’s program.

UF BME Faculty Service Excellence Award: Dr. Carlos Rinaldi

This award is given to the BME primary faculty member who has provided outstanding and dedicated service to the department.

The award consists of a plaque and $500 for use in the Professor’s program.

UF BME Graduate Student Award of Excellence: Shannon Brown

This award is given to the registered BME graduate student who has excelled in her or his coursework, research, service to the department and leadership.

The award consists of a plaque and $250 to be deposited to the student’s UF account, or may be provided as a travel scholarship while employed/enrolled at UF.

UF BME Undergraduate Student Award of Excellence: Jackson Cagle

This award is given to the registered BME undergraduate student who has excelled in her or his coursework, research, service to the department and leadership.

The award consists of a plaque and $250 to be deposited to the student’s UF account, or may be provided as a travel scholarship while employed/enrolled at UF.
