Congratulations to Robert Accolla!

Big congrats to Robert Accolla, Ph.D. candidate in the Stabler lab, for his recent award of a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Predoctoral Fellowship for his project titled, Engineering Modular Oxygen-generating, Pro-vasculogenic Biomaterial Platforms for Cell-Based Therapies!

The prestigious fellowship will support Robert’s PhD research in tissue engineering vascularized implants for islet transplantation. He is exploring both the design of vascular networks within the implant, as well as locally delivering oxygen and immunosuppressive agents. Congrats Robert!!
