What if I don’t get accepted into the BME major?

Current UF students who declare PRE-BME as their major will be advised by the BME department. BME advisors will work with these students to identify an alternate major of their interest. Students will be advised to track for their alternate major in addition to pre-BME. This does not add a significant burden to the student because the first two years of all Engineering majors are very similar as this is the time in which students are completing the foundation for upper division courses. If a student is not selected for admission to the BME major at the end of their second year, the student will change their major to their alternate and will be on track to complete the upper division courses in that major.
