The UF BME PhD program admits students who have earned only a BS degree and those with both a BS and MS, so having an MS is not required prior to admission and earning one is not required to make an application competitive. For applicants with weaker undergraduate academic records, however, the successful completion of an MS in BME, with a strong GPA and research productivity, can serve to strengthen their PhD application.
