This year, the J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering implemented a new series of departmental awards to acknowledge our excellent faculty, students and staff. 
 
The BME Staff Excellence Award annually recognizes exemplary performance by a staff member who consistently excels in his or her position and makes significant contributions toward the goals of the department. The staff member is selected based on feedback from faculty and students in the department. Each award winner receives $500 and a plaque.

Congratulations to Sommer Green, who was awarded the BME Staff Excellence Award for 2015! 
 
Sommer received her plaque at the first-ever Staff Appreciation Lunch on June 11th, where faculty and staff celebrated the outstanding achievements and service of all BME staff.
