New publication on oxygen generating biomaterial applied to implantable devices published in Biomaterials!

Maria Coronel, along with fellow doctoral students Jiapu Liang and Ying Li, recently published our findings on the translation of our oxygen generating material, OxySite, into macroencapsulation devices. This manuscript, published in the journal Biomaterials, evaluates the capacity of OxySite to supplement beta cells within macroencapsulation devices, which are notoriously hypoxic. These findings outline the feasibility of in situ oxygenation within devices, with broad potential for other systems.

Congrats to Maria, Jiapu, and Ying!
