Tiffany Conklin Named University Scholar!

Undergraduate researcher, Tiffany Conklin was selected as a part of the 2020 University Scholars Program. This prestigious award is given to 200 undergraduate students across all disciplines at UF. Those selected are paired with faculty mentors to complete a research project throughout the year. Students who receive the award are expected to present at the University of Florida Spring Undergraduate Research Symposium and contribute to an academic research paper.

Tiffany is a junior studying Biomedical Engineering and has been a member of the Sharma lab since December 2018 . Tiffany will be working on engineering PEG-based hydrogel with different biochemical and mechanical properties. She will utilize these to study the diffusion of proteins through the different hydrogels.

“Tiffany is very passionate about science and research and driven to complete experiments. She is learning the necessary skills in forming hypotheses, developing and executing experiments, and analyzing her results. She is a great student and a pleasure to mentor! I am very happy for her to receive recognition from the University Scholars Program,” said Madison Temples, Tiffany’s graduate student mentor since joining the Sharma Lab.
