Edmond Olguin offered three significant fellowships

Please join us in congratulating BME student, Edmond Olguin, who’s been offered the following significant fellowships.

Edmond is completing his BS degree in Nuclear Engineering and will be pursuing his PhD in the Medical Physics concentration in Biomedical Engineering beginning in the Fall of 2013.

Bridge to the Doctorate Fellowship
The Bridge to the Doctorate (BD) Grant was awarded to UF by the National Science Foundation through the Florida-Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (FG-LSAMP) to enhance recruitment and retention of underrepresented minority students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

Tuckett Fellowship
The Tuckett Fellowship is offered through the Institute for Computational Engineering (ICE). It’s a supplemental fellowship based on a student’s outstanding academic record and research interests. Edmond is one of just three incoming doctoral students to the College of Engineering selected as a Tuckett Fellow in Computational Engineering.
