BME student selected as a 2016 Biomedical Optics Student Poster Presentation Award Finalist

Congratulations to Jianbo Tang, a BME Ph.D. student who was selected as a 2016 Biomedical Optics Student Poster Presentation Award Finalist at the 2016 Optical Society (OSA) & Photonics Congresses and Topical Meetings. His poster presentation was titled, “Miniaturized Scanning Photoacoustic Imaging for Brain Study in Behaving Rats.”

Jianbo Tang conducts research with Dr. Huabei Jiang, Pruitt Family Professor in the J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Jiang’s research focuses on discovering and developing fundamentally new optical-based imaging technologies for in vivo visualization at both the macroscopic and microscopic scales.

The OSA Congress focuses on translating biomedical optics from the scientific bench to clinical practice. The OSA Awards Committee consisting of Biomedical Optics Congress Chairs and Program Committee judged the winners on technical content, display and overall presentation. The winners received $500 each and award finalists received $100 each.

 Congratulations, Jianbo!
