BME student awarded 2020-21 UF Diversity Enhancement Award

Julieth Gómez, BME student in the Brain Mapping Lab, was awarded the 2020-21 Diversity Enhancement Award from the UF Office of Graduate Diversity Initiatives.

Julieth is from Colombia and is a Fulbright Scholar who is finishing her M.S. and starting her Ph.D. in the Fall. Her research combines large-scale data mining and machine learning techniques with hypothesis driven neurophysiological research in human populations to further our understanding of brain activity to treat neurological disorders.

This award is available to departments for the purpose of providing additional stipend support to aid in the recruitment of highly sought-after underrepresented minority Ph.D. and M.F.A. applicants. This award provides up to $5,000 per year for 4 years of additional funds.
