2016 BME Departmental Excellence Award winners announced

Congratulations to the J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering departmental award winners!

Award winners were selected based on submitted nomination materials and faculty CVs/teaching evaluations. Winners were recognized during the 2016 Fall Welcome Event.

Congratulations to the following outstanding BME faculty, staff and students!

UF BME Faculty Research Excellence Award: Aysegul Gunduz, Ph.D.

This award is given to the BME primary faculty member who, in the previous year or recent several years, whose research program has had most significant impact, especially recognizing new contributions.

 

 

UF BME Faculty Teaching Excellence Award: Blanka Sharma, Ph.D.

This award is given to the BME primary faculty member who has excelled in teaching, mentoring, and professional development at either, and preferably both, the undergraduate and graduate levels.

 

 

UF BME Faculty Service Excellence Award: Cherie Stabler, Ph.D.

This award is given to the BME primary faculty member who has provided outstanding and dedicated service to the department.

 

 

 

UF BME Graduate Student Award of Excellence: Emily Lakes

This award is given to the registered BME graduate student who has excelled in her or his coursework, research, service to the department and leadership.

 

 

 

UF BME Undergraduate Student Award of Excellence: Margaret “Meggie” Pires-Fernandes

This award is given to the registered BME undergraduate student who has excelled in her or his coursework, research, service to the department and leadership.

 

 

UF BME Staff Award of Excellence: Brittany Moore

This award is given to the BME staff member who, in the previous year consistently excels in his or her position and makes significant contributions toward the goals of the department.
