Assistant Professor Kyle Allen named to Editorial Board of Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology

Congratulations to Assistant Professor Kyle D. Allen who was recently named to the Editorial Board in Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology!

Frontiers is one of the world’s largest and fastest growing open-access publishers.  This new journal will provide an open-access and interactive web platform for the bioengineering research community to publish high-impact peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Allen will serve as a Review Editor for the Biomechanics section, bringing his expertise in cartilage tissue mechanics, synovial fluid mechanics, and rodent gait mechanics to the journal.  Dr. Allen’s laboratory focuses on the development of diagnostics and therapeutics of degenerative joint diseases, including osteoarthritis.  His research utilizes the principles of biomechanics to detect pain-related behaviors in small animal models of musculoskeletal pathology.
