Allen named Associate Editor of Osteoarthritis and Cartilage

Congratulations to Dr. Kyle Allen, who has recently been named Associate Editor of Osteoarthritis and CartilageOsteoarthritis and Cartilage is the official journal of the Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI). The journal is an international, fully peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal. The primary objective of Osteoarthritis and Cartilage is to foster the cross-fertilization of findings from fundamental, clinical, and translational sciences in all fields of research of relevance to osteoarthritis, cartilage, and related areas of joint biology.

“As my research has always focused on osteoarthritis and related diseases, this is quite the honor for me. I’m excited to help Osteoarthritis & Cartilage continue to be a premier journal for orthopedic research,” said Allen.

Allen is an associate professor in the J. Crayton Pruitt Department of Biomedical Engineering. His research seeks to improve the evaluation of preclinical osteoarthritis models and improve the preclinical-to-clinical translation of emerging diagnostics and therapeutics for joint diseases. Within this goal, Allen’s lab is currently developing new behavioral assays that examine symptomology in rodent models of joint disease, novel methods to collect and analyze joint-level molecular changes using magnetic nanoparticles, and innovative replacements of tissue function using tissue engineering and cell therapy.
